Genesis 3:4
4 Then the serpent said (Revelation 12:9 tells us this serpent was the devil) to the woman, “You will not surely die. (She did !)
Why did she
fall for the lie? Because she deep inside wanted to be all-knowing like God.
Genesis 3:5 will show us what I mean.
5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (The top dog spirit entered her as she consumed the fruit of the tree of good and evil, his lies, his counsel, his wisdom and in fact all the spirits he harbored now had a right to her!)
Isaiah 14:14 shows the mind of Satan.
14 I (the devil, also known as Lucifer) will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’ (Is this not the total personification of self-esteem?)
It is this creature with his
warped mentality that founded the world we live in and it is his twisted knowledge that has reshaped and
evilly altered the nature of all creation! To show you what I mean let us look at the fruit of Adam and Eve's firstborn son,
Cain. He was angry because he thought God favored his brother's sacrifice to Him over his and killed him! He too wanted to be number one! Adam and Eve reproduced themselves! Understand, from then till now all the world's knowledge is designed to make man want to be like God. That is how Satan and
all spirits like him can happily live through mankind and fulfill their dreams! They need our bodies to function and our twisted thinking to lead us to be self-reliant, self-made, to have a wonderful self-image. They encourage us to strive to be greater than others, be a standout, number one, to be like God! Unfortunately following this counsel will cause us to be cursed and just as out of God's grace as is Satan and his army of evil spirits.
Jeremiah 17:5 explains,
5 Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord. (The cursed can never inherit the good promises of God!)
Isaiah 42:8 reveals God's feelings towards the world's icons.
8 I am the Lord (not man nor angels), that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another (God alone is preeminent), nor My praise to carved images (anything we think about more than God is an idol in our lives).
God's people for the most part wish to
walk in God's will and be righteous before Him, but this is so very hard to do if we are plagued by this spirit. It wants mankind to think they must be the best, always right, the fastest, strongest, smartest, good as the best and better than the rest! For this reason Satan will assign a
spirit of inferiority to the top dog to torture them if they fail. You see this way Satan keeps mankind self-centered, with himself at the helm as the one producing the win or the one feeling inferior, having the responsibility to be better! Where is God in this? We must ask ourselves, do I fit in either of these descriptions?
Matthew 23:12 gives us some really good advice!
12 And whoever exalts himself will be humbled (so look out if you think highly of yourself!), and he who humbles himself will be exalted. (This seems a much safer route!)
Proverbs 29:23 warns,
23 A man’s pride will bring him low (So maybe not being a winner is not so bad! Maybe even be doing God a favor.), but the humble in spirit will retain honor. (The last will be first with God!)
James 4:10
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
We will hopefully one day see
we really cannot help ourselves, nor can mankind be of any help, no matter how experienced or brilliant they may seem, God alone in His wisdom is able to with perfection solve all problems! Therefore, if our ambitions are to be number one or acclaimed or looked upon by our peers as a top dog, we should read and think about Luke 1:52.
Luke 1:52
52 He (God) has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted the lowly (and, He is about to do it again).
I Corinthians 1:27
27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world (in Daniel we are told the power of the holy people will be shattered) to put to shame the things which are mighty; (God will use those the world perceives as losers to defeat the top dogs of the world!)
All the trophies, gold medals, and the
accolades of man will be useless to us on judgment day! All these awards are but proof of our
wrong choice of knowledge! If you think about it, because Eve craved wisdom from the dark kingdom and had the need to be superior she actually became guilty of turning her back on the knowledge and wisdom of the very God that created the universe and her! So all of mankind that pictures themselves as highly trained individuals and educated geniuses, to God are simply vessels full of Satan's foolishness!
I Corinthians 3:19
19 For the wisdom of this world (not His Kingdom) is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”; (All the men that think they are sharp, clever are to the Lord fools!)
This top dog personality is found in many Christians as well!
Babylon has always flouted the top dog spirit! It causes them to think they can
break God's law, ignore God's will and yet be accepted by Him because of the blood of Christ. We must not only repent and ask for forgiveness for this world's thinking, but change! To make these changes man must close his mind to the
enemy's thoughts that are transmitted to them and fill their database with God's knowledge.
Isaiah 55:8-9 says,
8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts (the enemy's knowledge and nature have caused man to be more comfortable in Satan's sordid dreamworld than in the reality of God's Kingdom).
Can you now understand how insulting to God it must be for us to
seek a mere man for answers to the world's problems or see any validity in their wisdom concerning us personally? The fact is, the world is like a car running out of gas! It is almost at a standstill concerning many areas of life. Irreversible situations caused by the warming trend for instance. Oceans polluted with oil spills and trash, plants used for food so genetically altered that they no longer have the nutrition to properly sustain us resulting in disease and sickness, on and on, all this the
fruit of Satan's knowledge!! Mankind just is not as smart as the enemy has convinced them they are!
Therefore the spirits that have for so long encouraged man to be the top dog, need to be properly seen and understood by humanity for what they really are! Fact is,
fighting to be at the top of the ladder is one of the most prevalent reasons mankind is in the shape it is in today!! Adam and Eve were banished from the garden because of these spirits! So it is today!
Matthew 7:21 says,
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Restoration eludes us also because of them! Why would God restore mankind still walking with these spirits only to have them
repeat the same decisions Adam and Eve made? It is hard for the proud to change as these spirits are cleverly disguised in glitz and glamor, admiration and self-fulfilling hero worship. They are hidden in the intellectual giants mankind envies as the rich and powerful! In short they are in those the world looks up to and like Eve, tries to emulate and then reproduce themselves in others over and over as
man's beloved icons, their heroes, the top dogs.
How does this category of people ever fit into Matthew 18:4?
Matthew 18:4
4 Therefore who-ever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. (How very, very difficult for the powerful top dog!)
Yes, we were originally
created little gods, the children of God as seen at Psalms 82:6 and Matthew 10:34, but Father is the Almighty God, all knowing, omniscient, omnipresent, everywhere at once, omnipotent, the most powerful being ever, that created the whole universe!
We think we can be like that! How egotistically wrong man has been over the generations and as stated before it is costing all creation to endure the problems we are experiencing today.
Father will not restore us until men and angels know without a doubt they can never achieve His status. Never! We need God like a car needs fuel, a lighthouse needs power. We need the air we breathe to live,
we need Him!
God called up a people as seen in Ephesians 4:11-12 for the end time
to teach man these things, but for the most part they themselves failed.
Ephesians 4:11-12 clues us as to who they are.
11 And He Himself (Jesus) gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, (here is why)
12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying (or raising up) of the body of Christ,
Unfortunately for the most part these called ones were more
interested in titles and position than the job they were called to. They therefore became easy victims of the top dog spirit as well and the promises of God remained un-manifested. When will man ever fully comprehend John 15:5!
John 15:5
5 “I (Jesus) am the vine, you (child of God) are the branches. He who abides in Me (lives in Him), and I in him, bears much fruit (the good fruit of the tree of Life, the fruit of wisdom and understanding from the mind of God); for without Me you can do nothing. (Do we see this?)
Philippians 2:8-11
8 And being found in appearance as a man, He (Jesus) humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
The world's heroes will tremble in the presence of the King of Kings while
the meek, the humble, the fruit of the tree of Life, the lowly will shout
His glorious name, walk in
Christ's victory and declare God's sovereignty! Had Eve believed God's word and obeyed His law we would not be in the complex place we are today. Let us read the law of the scripture, God's word and this time believe!
Matthew 7:18-20
18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. (That is law!)
19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. (This too is law!)
20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
So remember, as the old saying goes, “fruit doesn't fall far from the tree”! Smart alecks, conceited know it alls, the prideful, the
haughty and arrogant, the top dog icon are all fruit of the original top dog, the Tree of Good and Evil, Satan!
